As thought, my blood test has shown that I haven't yet ovulated. So I have started taking the pill in order to get me a decent cycle and hopefully a good period. It also means we will have a definite end to this cycle - I could have waited to see if I naturally ovulated however who knows when that could have been based on my last few cycles. I also start my metformin tonight - hoping that I don't get too many side effects from that.
We are also booked in for our education and needle jabbing education on the 8th August.... eek, that will be scary - I have managed to avoid having to do any of my trigger jabs so have been lucky there, but no avoiding it now!!! With the short cycle, there will be a period where im having to do 2 jabs a night!!!
Im just so excited about all of this!!! It seems so weird that I can't wait to be feeling yucky side effects or having to jab myself. I think its cos I know that this is all just another step towards the end result!!
A private and personal journey in achieving our goal of a family... I have decided to journal my experiences of trying for a baby – the miscarriage, the fertility pathway and hopefully pregnancy. I want to be able to look back on this one day and appreciate how far we have come in order to get our dream. I also hope to help others in realising they are not alone in their own journeys x

Its on!!!
Just got back from our consent signing appointment.... It's on!!!
Well almost... I have to have a blood test tomorrow to see if I have OV which at CD18 im sure I haven't. If I have however, just need to wait for my period and then we start. If not I start "down regulating" by taking the pill for 3 weeks and then stop it on the 15th Aug and should get AF a few days later and book on for our IVF cycle then!!! Eek, can't believe its happening!!! As we thought, im doing a short antagonist cycle as im at high risk of hyperstimulating so this will reduce the risks. Also im going to start metformin to help with that and also to minimise my PCOS symptoms. Other than that, all my other blood tests from the other week were fine.
This is my time, it has to be!!! Im feeling so strong and positive. Can't wait!!

Screening for IVF
The Provera worked.... im CD 4 today!!!
So we have now done all our screening for IVF - hubby did his semen test on Friday and he was as expected, all good. I had my day 3 bloods yesterday and a scan today. Bloods were all pretty good. The scan showed 9 cysts on the right ovary, 13 on the left so only borderline PCOS (apparently 12+ on each ovary is a sign of it) however my AMH is consistent with it at 6.3. I therefore have to have more tests to rule out some rare genetic disease which is similar to PCOS but its about the adrenal gland (some big fancy medical name I can't remember). If it is that, there could be some issues with passing it onto babies. Im also getting tested for diabetes and high cholesterol. She said that its most likely PCOS as first thought however wanted to rule things out.
I asked about why my cycles have been pushing out - she said the clomiphene only masks my condition so when that stopped the cycles lengthened. She doesn't see that there were any other issues causing that. I asked about metformin treatment - this is something they may consider with the IVF treatment to help limit weight gain and too many folicles. We talked about the IVF treatment options and she said I will most likely go on a short protocol so that im not having too many medications that will stimulate me as im already at high risk of OHSS (Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome).
Other than that, we are almost good to go - have our consent appointment on the 19th July and then will know when we start IVF! Eek, it's actually happening!!!
